David S. Shapiro, Vice Chair

David S. Shapiro, Esq, is currently Vice President, Assistant General Counsel at CBS Broadcasting, specializing in distribution and programming agreements and related issues. He previously practiced as a Banking & Credit Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP advising corporations and private equity clients in connection with refinancings and acquisition financings. During his time at Simpson Thacher, David served as a Pro Bono Extern with Brooklyn Legal Services, advising non-profits, grassroots organizations and individuals in need of legal assistance on legal issues. He is currently a member of Brooklyn Legal Services Young Professionals for Justice. David became personally involved in NAMI-NYC when he joined the Young Professional Advisory Board (YPAB) in 2013; he also served as a member of the Event Committee for the 2014 Seeds of Hope Gala. He received his AB in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and his JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
