Family-to-Family course (9/20-11/15)

Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session class for family, significant others and friends of people living with severe mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. The course is taught by trained family members. Research shows that graduates gain a greater understanding of mental illness, are able to cope better, worry less, and feel newly empowered to advocate for better treatment and services for their relative.

Family & Friends of People with Mood Disorders

Support, sharing of coping strategies, and information for family members and friends of someone with a mood disorder, including: major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, cyclothymia, and SAD (seasonal affective disorder). 3rd Monday of the month, 6:30pm to 8pm ET.

Illness under mood disorders include: major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder (mania – euphoric, hyperactive, over inflated ego, unrealistic optimism), persistent depressive disorder (long lasting low grade depression), cyclothymia (a mild form of bipolar disorder), and SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Peer-to-Peer course (10/19-12/7)

Peer-to-Peer is a free, 8-week class for adults with mental illness who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. Taught by a team of trained “mentors” who are living healthy and productive lives with mental illness. Participants learn the tools needed to take control of their own wellness and recovery.

Recovery support group for people aged 18 to 30 with mental illness, regardless of diagnosis, led by peers. Develop coping skills, share common experiences, gain self-advocacy skills, and make friends. Every Wednesday, 6pm to 7:30pm. (Please arrive on time. Attendees who arrive after 6:15 will not be allowed to participate.)
