Young Adults
Recovery support group for people aged 18 to 30 with mental illness, regardless of diagnosis, led by peers. Family-to-Family (1/15 – 3/5)
Family-to-Family is a free, 8-session class for family, significant others and friends of people living with severe mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based program. The course is taught by trained family members.
Research shows that graduates gain a greater understanding of mental illness, are able to cope better, worry less, and feel newly empowered to advocate for better treatment and services for their relative. Class topics include:
- Schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and dual diagnosis.
- Basics about the brain and mental illness.
- Medication review.
- Problem-solving and communications skills workshops.
- Self-care and advocacy.

The Creative Writing Group is a fun and safe environment where aspiring authors come together to share, critique, and improve their work. With teachers from Columbia University, the group explores all forms of written expression, including short stories, script writing, and much more. All are welcome. Every Tuesday, 6pm to 7:30pm ET.
