Peer-to-Peer (3/1 – 4/19)
Peer-to-Peer is a free, 8-week class for adults with mental illness who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. Taught by a team of trained “mentors” who are living healthy and productive lives with mental illness. Participants learn the tools needed to take control of their own wellness and recovery. Class topics include:
- Understanding mental health disorders, with possible co-occurring substance abuse, treatment, and medication.
- Addressing stigma, discrimination, and relationship issues.
- How to identify tell-tale feelings, behaviors, or events that may warn of impending relapse.
- Creating a “relapse prevention plan”.
- The connection between a healthy lifestyle and mental health recovery.
“It made me feel I was not alone in coping with mental illness. It gave me hope that I could recover and that my life would not always be filled with chaos, and it gave me positive role models to inspire me to strive for recuperation and success in life.”

Family & Friends of People with Mood Disorders
Support, sharing of coping strategies, and information for family members and friends of someone with a mood disorder, including: major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, cyclothymia, and SAD (seasonal affective disorder). 3rd Monday of the month, 6:30pm to 8:30pm ET.

Ending the Silence For Families
Ending the Silence for Families is a 1-hour presentation from NAMI for parents, guardians, and other family members of middle or high school aged youth that includes warning signs, facts and statistics, how to talk with your child, and how to work with school staff.
Tuesday March 16, 4pm to 5pm ET.

Creative Writing Group
The Creative Writing Group is a fun and safe environment where aspiring authors come together to share, critique, and improve their work. With teachers from Columbia University, the group explores all forms of written expression, including short stories, script writing, and much more. All are welcome. Every Tuesday, 6pm to 7:30pm ET.
