Miriam Davidson

I am an attorney focused on special needs planning, guardianship for adults with disabilities, and trusts and estates. I was introduced to NAMI-NYC after my son’s second psychiatric hospitalization. I attended the Family-to-Family program and my life was forever changed.

I wanted to share with others what I learned from NAMI-NYC about dealing with my son’s mental health issues. I now teach NAMI-NYC Basics. All NAMI-NYC classes are free to the public and so are the weekly, bi-monthly and monthly support groups. NAMI-NYC also advocates for the needs of people like my son who lives with mental health issues. But it takes money to offer these free programs to the community. It takes money to advocate on behalf of people living with mental illness. I am in the Marathon to raise money for NAMI-NYC to continue its vital work of education, advocacy, and support.
