Photography Class Gallery

Beginning in August 2020, NAMI-NYC partnered with the Josephine Herrick Project to provide a 10-week online course in photography for the NAMI community.

Participants documented their daily lives while living with mental illness during the time of Covid-19. Each class focused on different ways that photography can be used to explore the self, combat and address daily challenges, and provide a platform for those who are often underrepresented.

Through these photographs, we hope to illuminate the brave voices of those living with mental illness by sharing their stories and removing the stigma such a diagnosis can carry.
