NAMI Family & Friends

NAMI Family & Friends is a 90-minute webinar for people who have a loved one with a mental health condition.

Where you’ll learn how to best support them… And yourself. And it’s a chance to meet other people in the same situation. Get information, and support, from people who understand what you’re going through.

Sign up today for an upcoming webinar!

Tuesday, August 23 from 6 to 7:30pm ET, via Zoom.

Click to RSVP to get the info to connect.

You’ll learn a lot…

The workshop is led by trained volunteers with lived experience of supporting a family member with a mental health condition (i.e. IRL). They will walk you through

  • Understanding diagnoses, treatment and recovery
  • Effective communication strategies
  • The importance of self-care
  • Crisis preparation strategies
  • NAMI and community resources

What people are saying…

“Hearing other people’s personal experiences, and how relatable my experiences are to them, was very helpful. Hearing strategies to communicate, and specific traits that people with mental illness have, gave me a lot of insight, and tools to work with. Know that the illness is what can cause ‘cruelty’ and poor decisions, rather than the person doing that on purpose… It helped learning that.”

“I have a better understanding of how mental illness impacts the person affected…it was good to hear the stories of the instructors and their paths. The handbook given has me a lot of helpful information which I didn’t know.”
